We’ve all been stuck in the doldrums before. We can’t think of anything that tastes good. There aren’t any movies we want to see and nothing on the radio catches our ear. When you’re stuck in that lackluster spot, it can be equally tough to find inspiration for your own work. The thing is, for all the times inspiration hits us out of the blue, we forget that we can also get up and go seek it out! Before you run out of steam… some places to get inspired!

1. Take A Page From A Book List
I am guilty of being the last person to hear about or read the newest book on the market. Normally, it only makes it to me if I’ve seen enough tweets mention a title. Then it occurred to me that services like Amazon and Barnes & Noble list their top sellers- something I’ll admit I’ve never looked at in the past. Take a chance and buy something in a genre you like! Maybe you’ve never even heard of it, but who isn’t down for a crime drama with a 5-star rating? If you have eReader, your risk gets even cheaper! You might be pleasantly surprised by what you find!

2. Rediscovering Your Music Past
When I was 12, the plans for my life changed as quickly as my FM radio dial. This also kinda meant that once your favorite song was played, it might be a little bit before it came back around unless you did a little channel surfing. These days, you can find mostly anything you want on the internet. On a recent holiday drive, I rediscovered many of my favorite songs from childhood. I still remember the music videos. I remember going to the store and buying my first album. It was magic. Needing a little inspiration? Pop open your free Spotify player and remember the days when you were going to be the first female president and own a pet giraffe when you grew up.

3. A Community of Inspirers
The key to some of the biggest systems for life change is community. Whether you’re losing weight or starting a business or trying out a new hobby, having fellow encouragers and participants can be the difference between sticking it out and throwing in the towel. That’s part of what we love so much about Intent.com. It’s a bunch of people who are getting up every morning and saying “these are the possibilities I see for my life and I want to go for it!” It costs literally nothing to jump right in with movers and shakers all over the globe who are launching new projects, wanting to be better parents, setting fitness goals and doing a million other things.
